My new/used sulair compressor, I think it's a 185, it has a kabota 4 cyl diesel motor. It hadn't ran since 2008 when I got it. I put a new batterey in it and got it fired up after bleeding the fuel lines because it ran out of fuel in 08 and they couldn't start it after that. That's why I got it for $800. so it sat in the harsh california sun and rain for 5 years before I got it. It still had a full tank of fuel, it looked okay so I'm useing it.
The problem is I was sandblasting with it for about two hours, every thing was going good then it shut off. It stunk and I thought it was over heated but the radiator was not hot. But the air tank was hot and I could hear boiling water. So I let it cool down then i drained the water from the air tank, there was about a half gallon of oiley water that came out. When I started it up again it made a bunch of weard noises then I seen sparks shoot out. It was kinda scarry, It wouldn't stop running when I turned it off so I reached in and closed the fuel valve. Lots of black smoke every where.
What do you think doc, is there any hope?
