hi cas..

great website mate!!..

having trouble with a air power compressor.. after machine stops running and system pressure blows off through air relief valve, compressor oil spues out also (should only be air!).. have checked oil air seperator filter and all ok!.. could it be the mechanical seals inside the screws leaking..

This are comes from the top of the separator vessel. So if there is oil in this air, it means there is oil after the separator filter, which shouldn't be there.

Do you have oil in your compressed air as well???

If the filter is still OK. Please check the scavenge line: http://www.air-compressor-guide.com/blog/how-the-scavenge-line-keeps-your-compressed-air-oil-free/

And it could be that the minimum pressure valve is not functioning correctly. This creates a 'rush' of low pressure compressed air when the compressor starts up and the compressed air tank/system is completely empty.

The separator filter cannot efficiently remove the oil from this 'startup' air.
