I have Kaeser Instrument Air compressor Model Number ESD 441S and Serial Number 102816.00160-1003, in this unit we have problem of high temperature on lube oil. When we check the unit we found that it is loading continues 24 Hrs a day without unload. The question I have I want to know if this type of machine is design to work like this loading all the time.

Hi,

Yes it is perfectly normal to run this machine 24 hours loaded. In fact, it's the best condition for screw compressors to run!

If the temperature is too high, please check the following:

  • Is the oil cooler clean?
  • Is the oil level OK?
  • Is the ambient temperature OK?

Most of the time, the problem is either a dirty oil cooler, or a very hot compressor room.. or both!

Please check those first. If it is still running hot, we'll look at some other options..
