So I have a IR 185 compressor that I bought to do blowouts for our landscape buisness. The compressor runs well and builds up pressure nicely but after a bit of running it starts to blow oil through the air nozzle. And that is how I stumbled into your forum...

•Oil separator old / saturated
•Scavenge line plugged
•Too high running temperature
•Too high oil level
•Wrong type of oil used
•Minimum pressure valve not working

I saw this in your info about screw compressors. Now from what I can tell my separator is brand new so I am elimanting that as a problem. I don't think the temp is too high but I could be wrong. This compressor is calls for ATF so that one isn't too hard to mess up. So that leaves the scavenge line being plugged and the minimum pressure valve not working. I can check that scavenge line (I assume that is the line/tube besides the air out put at the top of the separator). I am not sure what the minimum pressure valve is, or how to check it but please feel free to give me any direction if you can.
