Hello, my name is Leo. I have a troubleshooting question. My company hasn't made the effort to get me some training, so I learn as I go. My question, rotary air compressor is spinning, shows that's it's pumping, but never builds air, what could be the cause? I verified that 120vac is present at solenoid valve, clicks, motor has correct rotation, and intake valve does not open while computer screen does show pumping.

Hi Leo,
Thank you for your question.
The inlet valve works by compressed air. The solenoid valve switches this control air 'on' and 'off'.
So, please check if this control air is actually coming through the solenoid valve. Sometimes it 'clicks', but it's dirty inside and no air can pass through it.
If that's ok, then the problem is probably within the inlet valve itself.
Be careful with disassembling inlet valves. Some models have very powerful springs inside that will ruin your face when you're not careful when opening it.
You can first check the operation of the inlet valve by stopping the compressor and apply control pressure (2 bar should do) directly to the inlet valve. See if it opens or not.
Good luck!
