hi there! i have a chicago pneumatic qrs 5.0 rotary screw compressor with 198 hours on it and it runs normal but will not produce any air.
my rotary screw chicago pneumatic qrs 5.0 is running great but will not fill up the main air tank. i was using it just fine and noticed that is wasnt shutting off so i investigated and saw that the tank pressure was only half of what it should be and was not building any more.
i had this problem before and took apart the screws and cleaned them and relubed the bearings. put it all back together and it worked perfect for about 25 hours and then is doing the same thing, just running without building pressure.
I need this thing to be running since i opperate an automotive repair shop and no one in my area knows anything about screw compressors. please i need some advice.....thanks josh

Hi Josh,
When an air compressor is not producting any pressure, first thing you should check is the inlet valve / unloader valve. Does it open and close?
Here is more info on inlet valves: http://www.air-compressor-guide.com/air-compressor-unloader-inlet-valve.html.
Also, taking apart and assembling a rotary screw element should be done with lots of caution. The clearance between the rotor and housing is very important and adjust with filler rings. Are you sure the screw element is assembled correctly?
Let me know if you need more information..
