my check valve is bout 2inches long and has 5 holes around it and there is a screw knob on one end and inside is a disc then the spring but air I constanly coming out of the holes.

The knob is up against the disc then the spring sits flush with the spring if I turn it around where the disc hits first where air comes out then the spring the knob has no tension.

Could I have a bad check valve.

Thank you very much.

Hi Tyler,

Thanks for your question.

Where exactly is this valve located on your compressor? And where are the incoming and outgoing lines going to?

From your description, it sounds like it could be a regulating valve (to set a pressure or setting) instead of a check valve.

Check valves typically don't have a screw knob on them.

If the thing is leaking form one side, keep in mind that the pressure could be coming from the next part in the line (this is often the case), and that other part is leaking, and not this valve.

I have a page about check valves, be sure to check it out.

Let me now if you have more questions or when you have more info.

Good luck,

Cas.
