Compressor Mode: Atlas Copco ZR160
Oil free screw compressor

Recently a minor fault alarm, LP dT high, is raised. The alarm is set at 25 degC and the dT recorded is 36 degC.

Would you suggest the possible causes and solutions for this fault?

Hi Henry,

I'm not sure what this alarm actually is. dT is difference in temperature (probably between inlet and outlet of LP element).

The only thing I can think of is the cooling water temperatures.

If the cooling water temperature rise over the LP is too high, and all else is normal (LP air outlet temperature, intercooler pressure, etc), then I would say that the cooling water flow is too small.

Maybe there is a blockage somewhere, or a valve is closed to much?

Good luck and let me know if you fixed this problem. Just comment on this post.

Cas.
