Hi,

This could be caused by a few things.. you have to do some more investigation to find out the problem.

  • The pressure switch
  • The control air pressure towards the inlet valve
  • The loading solenoid
  • The inlet valve

If this happens, please check or listen to the pressure switch. Is it cliking? Please also check with a multi-meter. If the pressure switch has gone bad, it's sending the wrong signal to the inlet valve/loading solenoid.

If pressure switch is OK, then check the loading solenoid + control pressure + electrical connections.

If you experience the strange behaviour, check if the loading solenoid is clicking (open-close-open, etc) and check the power towards the loading solenoid. Is it interrupted?

If all this is OK, then the inlet valve must be malfunctioning. It is receiving the correct signal from the pressure switch and loading solenoid, but it is closing and opening with no reason.

But, I suspect it will be the loading solenoid, the electrical connections, or the pressure switch.

Good luck and love to know how it goes.

My shipmate recently replaced the pressure switch on our Kaeser SX6 after the unit made a loud popping sound, hissed then stooped loading. The gasket in the switch ruptured. Now the unit is building up to pressure but will not shut off. What should we run through to troubleshoot the problem? Thanks
