I purchased a 185cfm screw John Deere engine driven compressor.
It starts..runs fine..absolutely no air out of compressor.
Oil level in receiver is fine but acts as though the drive between engine and pump bad. No noise whatsoever. I am long way from any type of service area in western NE. Any ideas.?

If you hear no sound from the compressor side, there is no air outlet, and the oil level stays 'flat' ... yes, it sounds like the coupling between the engine and the compressor is blown.
It could be either a direct-drive or belt-driven compressor.
If it is a direct drive, there is usually a start-shaped plastic coupling (so called jaw coupling). . Or there is a rubber coupling which is bolted by a flange on the engine and the compressor.
Either of these can be easily changed yourself.
Other compressor have a belt coupling. These are also possible to change yourself.
But, sometimes they are harder to change, as they sometimes require a hydraulic tool to get the belt up to tension (officially).
Hope this was of any help. Let me know if you need any more info!
Good luck!
